What are animal legal professionals?

Animal legal professionals are lawyers or legal specialists who focus on issues related to animal law. Professionals in animal legal roles often encounter challenges such as navigating the complexities of evolving animal protection laws and balancing the interests of various stakeholders, including animal welfare organizations, government agencies, and private clients. Additionally, they may face emotionally charged cases, especially those involving animal cruelty or neglect, which require sensitivity and professional resilience. Collaboration with law enforcement, veterinarians, and advocacy groups is essential, and staying updated on legislative changes is a continuous part of the job.

Job description

Applicants must live near or in driving distance of Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

Are you an animal lover who’s passionate about helping abandoned and abused pets find homes? Have you been looking for a way to make a difference in the lives of animals who need help healing and finding their forever families? Well, we’re looking for people exactly like you!

Hi! My name is Cindy Yee King and I’m the founder of the Grace Animal Rehab Center. GARC is a small but successful non-profit in the Sapulpa, Oklahoma area. Since 2017, we’ve been rescuing and rehabilitating cats and dogs in need, and placing them in loving homes.

Now, we’re looking for some Board Members to join us in changing the lives of our rescued pets!

We need people who can:

  • Assist in developing policies and procedures to support our mission
  • Act as community ambassadors to share our mission with the public
  • Participate in fundraising, marketing, PR, legal, and accounting duties - depending on your skills
  • Attend bi-annual or as-needed board meetings - remotely or in person
  • And supporting GARC in meeting goals and keeping promises to the public, donors, and beneficiaries.

If you’re local, we’d also love for you to volunteer at our fundraising events and even help with our wonderful animals.

If you have skills in communications, writing, PR, graphic design, accounting, law, or animal care and training, that’s a huge plus.

The time commitment varies and maybe 10 to 15 hours a month or more - but we’d be delighted if you can spare a little more.

To learn more about our mission, our animals and our plans for the future, please visit our website at www.garcok.org

To apply to become a volunteer board member, please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your qualifications and passion for animal welfare at GARC.
