Job Title: Anesthesia Tech

License: BLS (Basic Life Support) preferred
Certifications: Certification by a recognized professional certifying body preferred
Must-Have:
- Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech
- BLS preferred
Description:
Days: Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
On-call/callback, holidays, weekends as required.
Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia.
Prepare anesthesia equipment prior to the patient's arrival.
Place anesthesia monitors and ensure cleanliness of anesthesia equipment.
Ensure the availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies.
Set up medications and supplies as applicable.
Continuously communicate with anesthesiologists, residents, and CRNAs.
Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and the placement of central line catheters.
Operate cell-saver machines and keep track of lab reports.
Participate in advanced surgical cases including cardiac, liver transplant, vascular, and trauma.
Provide on-call coverage as needed.
Ensure anesthesia equipment is in good working order.
Complete preventive maintenance and advanced troubleshooting.
Serve as a key resource person for specialized equipment.
Assist in developing and implementing in-service training programs.
Train staff in roles and responsibilities of an anesthesia technologist.
Perform anesthesia equipment setup and troubleshooting.
Test infusion pumps, nerve stimulators, and defibrillators.
Calibrate anesthesia machines and attach fiberoptic bronchoscopes.
Set up rooms between cases and ensure cart availability throughout the day.
Provide full service setup at the end of the day.
Work with other units to ensure the availability of anesthesia equipment.
Perform setup for ectopic procedures for anesthesia care.
Provide backup to shift supervisor in their absence.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
