Job Summary 
Responsible for set up and assembly of anesthesia and physiologic monitoring equipment. 

  • Sets up and assists with the placement of vascular access lines; assists the anesthesia care provider during endotracheal intubation.
  • Identifies appropriate functioning of anesthesia and anesthesia-related equipment; calibrates and recalibrates physiologic monitoring equipment; performs minor repairs on technical equipment for specialized surgical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
  • Identifies the need for and requisitions highly specialized equipment and supplies.
  • Assists with the transport of patients, cleans equipment, removes anesthesia equipment from the operating room after surgery. 

1. High school graduate or equivalent.

2. Successful completion of a hospital-based anesthesia technician training program of one (1) year duration or more; or, equivalent on-the-job training of at least one (1) to two (2) years under the supervision of an anesthesia care provider.
