Job description

We are searching for an Anesthesia Technician II - The Anesthesia Tech II has specialized experience as an Anesthesia Technician, and who is able to provide support to the Anesthesia providers and other members of the interdisciplinary team. This position is fully competent regarding anesthesia in all anesthetizing locations, supplies, and other related equipment. The Anesthesia Tech II works independently and demonstrates the clinical skills necessary for assisting with anesthesia-related procedures; troubleshooting of equipment- regardless of anesthetizing location (IE: OR, Cath Lab, OB/GYN, CV). This position serves as a Mentor to Anesthesia techs by utilizing skills and knowledge by helping to train and orient others.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and/or assists with procedures. 
  • Assists anesthesiologist with preparation and placement of neurophysiologic monitors. 
  • Assists with induction by connecting patient to monitors.
  • Assists with intubation.
  • Assists with the maintenance of patient's airway. 
  • Assists with the insertion of IVs and other invasive lines.
  • Prepares and sets up equipment. 
  • Prepares age-appropriate anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airway.
  • Conducts other patient-related procedures.
  • Supervises the maintenance of anesthesia equipment.
  • Inventories and stocks anesthesia supplies consistent with departmental demands.
  • Maintains an inventory of properly functioning anesthesia equipment in designated area to track repairs.
  • Organizes, cleans and neatly maintains all shelves and drawers where anesthesia supplies are kept.
  • Retrieves equipment and inspects for problems.

Maintains sterile supplies within expiration date.  
Requirements
 

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association  
    • CER-A-T (American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) __OR__ 
    • Associate's Degree - Completion of an anesthesia technician training program approved by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians) (ASATT) __OR__ 
    • 5 years' experience as an Anesthesia Technician will be accepted in lieu of the Cer-A-T Technical Diploma - Completion of an anesthesia technician training program approved  
  • Required 3 years Anesthesia technologists experience
