As an Anesthesia Tech at NYP, You Wil:
  • provide approved assistance to Anesthesiologists / CRNA's during the induction, maintenance and emergence from Anesthesia.
  • assist the anesthesiologists/ CRNA's with the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.
  • maintain on a daily and case to case basis, the equipment and supplies necessary to provide quality and cost effective anesthesia care to all patients cared for by the Anesthesia Department.
  • apply principles of infection control and safety, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment or supplies used in regular and contaminated cases.
  • set up sterile equipment, such as intravenous, central venous, arterial and pulmonary artery catheters using sterile technique.
  • set up, operates, and disassembles cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned.
  • perform all standard procedural checks on equipment; reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor.
  • ensure the sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment, including TEE's, fiber optic scopes and LMA's.
  • ensure workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during and after each shift.
  • perform other job related duties as assigned.

This is a full-time, day position located at NewYork-Presbyterian/ The Allen. Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 6:30am- 2:30pm.

Preferred Criteria:
  • Certification by American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)
Required Criteria:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
