Position Requirements

Description
Opportunity for a Chief of Anesthesia to practice in a highly autonomous environment. Blended team model, with physician and CRNAs sharing call and personally providing anesthesia. Diverse case mix which affords the opportunity to utilize regional anesthesia skills. St. Francis Hospital is a Catholic not-for-profit health care facility. The hospital is an affiliate of Hospital Sisters Health System sponsored by the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis. The Hospital Sisters established St. Francis Hospital in 1875 in Litchfield, Illinois, with the mission of meeting the needs of those living within the two-county area. St. Francis Hospital is a fully licensed and accredited, not-for-profit health care facility. Employing nearly 240 area residents, the hospital has a full range of medical services; surgery center; cancer care center; state-of-the-art imaging for diagnostic purposes; and physical, cardiac, and pulmonary rehabilitation. In addition, St. Francis is the only hospital in the two-county area providing maternity services. Care team model. Cohesive group.

Case Assignments & Schedule
Schedule: No in-house call.
Diverse case mix

Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across surgical procedures
Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and obtain informed consent
Develop and discuss anesthetic plans with patients
Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition and perform interventions as needed
Support departmental coordination and clinical leadership

Requirements
MD or DO from an accredited institution
Completion of Anesthesiology Residency
Board Eligible or Board Certified
Current medical licensure
ECFMG/FLEX (if applicable)
