Supplier Tooling Engineer
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Delivery timing as established during the sourcing process and program requirements.
  • Supplier issues resolution, communication to Android/Avancez stakeholders.
  • Engineering changes – implementation.
  • Investigating, analyzing and correcting problems in quality, production and control at a supplier location.
  • Perform audits and implement new strategies.
  • Supplier compliance to Android/Avancez SOR requirements/specifications.
  • Communicate with vendors regularly to address any concerns and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement in working relationships.
  • Understand and interpret all manufacturing audits, including ISO 9001 and other industry standards.
  • Maintain a supplier database and include performance evaluations and quality control audits in the database for in-house access by company and manufacturing management personnel.
  • Assist with logistics, including communications with vendors when there are packaging and receiving issues when materials arrive at receiving dock.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other with Tooling, Manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in Engineering, SQE/SQA, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Assembly Tooling, Machining role.
Travel:
  • Travel Required: Yes – 50% to 60% of the time.
Knowledge, Skills, and abilities:
  • Knowledge of DFMEA, DFM, PFMEA, Six Sigma.
  • Technical knowledge to discuss assembly process capabilities.
  • High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills where problems are unusual and difficult.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with all team members – manufacturing, engineering, executive leadership, customers, suppliers, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation of group presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, including Project.
