Job description

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Android Application Development Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Android app development, with a specialization in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and has productionized apps in an automotive Android environment. This role requires a deep understanding of modern Android development practices and the ability to lead and mentor a small but growing team of developers. Candidate shall also be collaborating and working cross functionally with designers, technical artists, and platform software engineers to develop apps for an enhanced in-vehicle user experience.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Android development with expertise in Human Machine Interface (HMI / UI) and writing production level applications
  • Strong expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose (Preferred), User Experience / User Interface (UX / UI) implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of Android SDK, building Android SDKs, Android graphical framework, multi display frameworks.
  • Experience with Android Automotive OS is preferred
  • Proficiency with Android Studio, Git, Gerrit, and other related development tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of high-quality Android applications for automotive systems using Kotlin, XML, and Jetpack Compose (Preferred).
  • Develop and maintain robust application architectures, ensuring scalability, and performance.
  • Understand and develop upon android graphical framework to support scalable multi display applications.
  • Develop and modify android middleware components as required to support application requirements as required.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative development environment.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality products.
  • Implement comprehensive testing strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of applications using automated testing frameworks

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, continuously improving development processes and tools.
