Wireless Test Engineer IV
Greenwood Village, CO (4 days on-site, 1 day remote)
Hybrid Role
$65 - $75 per hour (Long-term Contract)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Brooksource is seeking a highly experienced Wireless Test Engineer IV to join their WiFi Operations team in Greenwood Village, CO. This long-term contract role focuses on supporting wireless network performance, device testing, and customer experience initiatives for a leading telecommunications client. Approximately 80% of responsibilities are dedicated to wireless field and drive testing, with the remaining 20% focused on test automation development. The engineer will design and execute test plans for Wi‑Fi, 5G NR, and LTE networks, analyze network and device performance, troubleshoot RF and network issues, and recommend improvements to enhance coverage, latency, throughput, reliability, and overall customer experience. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of RF or wireless test engineering experience, strong hands‑on drive‑testing skills, and expertise with both carrier networks and Android/iOS devices. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams, technical data analysis, and the development of test automation solutions are key aspects of this role. WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Design, develop, and execute wireless test plans for Wi‑Fi, 5G NR, and LTE networks and devices
  • Perform wireless field and drive testing to evaluate network performance and customer experience
  • Collect, analyze, and post‑process wireless test data to identify performance trends, coverage gaps, and optimization opportunities
  • Develop and maintain test automation solutions for wireless device and network validation
  • Monitor network KPIs through internal dashboards and OEM network management tools
  • Troubleshoot RF, device, protocol, and network performance issues and determine root causes
  • Analyze subscriber experience data and recommend network changes that improve service quality and customer satisfaction
  • Evaluate wireless device behavior across Android and iOS platforms
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and cross‑functional teams to implement network performance improvements

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 4+ years of experience in RF engineering, wireless testing, network performance engineering, or a related field
  • Proficient knowledge of 5G NR, LTE, and Wi‑Fi technologies
  • Hands‑on wireless field‑testing and drive‑testing experience
  • Experience designing test plans, executing testing, automating test cases, and troubleshooting RF/wireless network issues
  • Experience with wireless carrier networks and mobile devices (Android and iOS)
  • Thorough understanding of Android and iOS device settings, configurations, and diagnostic tools
  • Experience using wireless data collection and post‑processing tools (e.g., Accuver XCAL/XCAP, Meritech, TEMS)
  • Strong knowledge of Android Debug Bridge (ADB) and related command‑line tools
  • Understanding of wireless and network protocols (DNS, DHCP, TCP/UDP, QUIC, QCI, 5QI)
  • Knowledge of network quality metrics, traffic prioritization, subscriber experience, and wireless performance analysis
  • Experience with Android and iOS automation, including tethered and superuser‑enabled devices
  • Ability to analyze technical data and translate findings into actionable network recommendations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and attention‑to‑detail skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple technical teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required
