Job Description
Our client is seeking an Android Payment Application Developer to join their development team. In this role, you'll build and enhance Android-based payment applications that run on payment terminals. You'll be involved throughout the software development lifecycle from designing and developing new features to testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining secure payment solutions.
Working closely with product managers, QA, UX designers, and fellow developers, you'll help deliver reliable, high-performance applications that integrate with payment hardware and meet industry security standards.
Location: Jacksonville, FL (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Pay: $80,000 to 90,000 annually
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and support Android applications for payment terminals.
  • Develop new features using Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and third-party payment libraries.
  • Integrate applications with payment hardware, including card readers, PIN pads, receipt printers, scanners, and other POS peripherals.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver software that meets both technical and business objectives.
  • Investigate software issues, identify root causes, and implement effective fixes.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation for application design, development, and ongoing support.
  • Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security expectations.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established software development best practices.
  • Contribute to process improvements and share knowledge with the development team.
  • Stay current on Android technologies, payment industry trends, and emerging development tools.
What We're Looking For
  • At least 2+ years of professional Android development experience using Java and/or Kotlin.
  • Strong understanding of Android Studio, Android SDK, and modern Android application architecture.
  • Experience working with REST APIs, SQLite, and mobile application debugging tools.
  • Previous experience developing payment, point-of-sale (POS), or financial transaction applications is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with EMV standards and payment processing technologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of source control, testing methodologies, code reviews, and other software development best practices.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with both local and global teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Mandarin language skills are a plus but not required.
