Job description

Background:
Andretti Global fields multiple entries in INDYCAR, INDY NXT, IMSA and Formula E; and has collaborations in Extreme E as Andretti Altawkilat Extreme E and Australian Supercars as Walkinshaw Andretti United. The global racing enterprise boasts over 280 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, six INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with Chief Mechanic to ensure all cars are built to spec. as per build and set-up sheets
  • Responsible for (but not limited to) ensuring race cars are properly functioning, safe and meet technical specifications.
  • Involved in daily, weekly, monthly execution of build and service schedules.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Assist with ensuring that all required items of equipment, spare parts, etc. are loaded on transporter.
  • Identify safety hazards and report risks.
  • Help other team members on other duties.
  • Professionally represent the Andretti brand and its sponsors on and off the track.
  • This position requires extensive domestic travel throughout the year (approx. 100 days per year)
  • This role may require working hours outside of the traditional “8 to 5” working environment, including weekends as needed.
  • This position participates in the workout program designed to maximize strength and endurance to remain competitive at a professional level.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Knowledge of mechanical components, electronics, and structural framework of race cars
  • Experience using one or more of the following: lathe, mill, drill press, band saw
  • Must be proficient in using precision measuring devices
  • Magnaflux & Zyglo non-destructive inspection certification desired but not required
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills required. Must have excellent communication skills and be willing and able to work as part of a small team
