Job description

Warehouse Worker / Compounder

Location: SealMaster Northern California – Vallejo, CA Department: Manufacturing / Warehouse FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Operations Manager


Position Summary

The Warehouse Worker / Compounder is responsible for manufacturing asphalt sealcoat products, safely operating warehouse equipment, receiving and shipping materials, maintaining inventory, and supporting general plant operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring products are manufactured accurately, customer orders are fulfilled efficiently, and the warehouse and production areas remain organized and safe.


Essential Job Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Manufacture sealcoat products by accurately measuring, mixing, and blending raw materials according to established formulas and production procedures.

Fill and monitor mixing tanks, storage tanks, and production equipment.

Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move raw materials and finished products.

Load and unload trucks using forklifts and other equipment while following all safety procedures.

Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.

Organize, label, stock, rotate, and maintain warehouse inventory and production materials.

Prepare customer orders for shipment or pickup.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, yard, production area, and equipment.

Perform routine inspections of equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.

Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, environmental regulations, and safe chemical handling procedures.

Complete production logs, inventory records, shipping documents, and other required paperwork accurately.

Assist with inventory counts and stock replenishment.

Support other departments and perform related duties as assigned to meet operational needs.


Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous warehouse, manufacturing, construction materials, farming, or industrial production experience preferred.

Experience operating powered industrial trucks (forklifts) is preferred. Employees must successfully complete company-approved forklift training and certification in accordance with OSHA requirements before independently operating powered industrial trucks.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Basic math skills sufficient to measure, count, and accurately mix materials.

Reliable attendance and punctuality.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work safely around industrial equipment and chemical products.

Ability to prioritize work and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to cross-train and assist in other operational areas as business needs require.


Physical Requirements

The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position regularly requires the ability to:

Stand and walk for extended periods.

Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Push and pull loaded carts, hoses, drums, and materials.

Climb ladders or stairs as needed.

Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.

Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, steel-toe footwear, and other required safety equipment.


Working Conditions

Exposure to asphalt emulsions, polymers, mineral fillers, cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, moving machinery, and changing weather conditions. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided by the Company as required by law and must be worn whenever required.

May work in hot, cold, wet, or humid environments.

This is a non-exempt position. Overtime may be required and will be compensated in accordance with applicable federal and California law.

Pay & Benefits

Pay: $24.00–$29.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Performance Incentives: Eligible for performance-based bonuses and other incentive opportunities, as available.

Schedule: Full-time, approximately 40 hours per week.

Overtime: Overtime may be required based on business needs and will be compensated in accordance with applicable federal and California law.
