Adjunct Instructor - World History
School: Arts & Sciences
Location: Columbia, MO
Type: Academic
Pay: $2500 per 16 week course ($833.33 per credit hour) for courses with 7-20 enrollments. Pay rate may vary for low- or high-enrolled courses.

Job Summary:
The Department of Humanities at Columbia College seeks an adjunct (part-time) instructor to teach HIST 111: Ancient Worlds: A Global Story during the Fall 2026 semester. This is a world history class covering prehistory to 1500CE. It is an in-seat, synchronous, general education class taught on our home campus in Columbia, Missouri. Classes start on 31 August, and this class meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 2:30 pm - 3:25 p.m.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in History, with graduate coursework in world history content. College teaching experience preferred. Graduate transcripts must be submitted with application materials. In addition, please submit an updated CV, and an application letter which discusses teaching experience and degree information.
