Analytics Strategy information

What is analytics strategy?

Analytics strategy refers to the planning and implementation of processes, tools, and personnel required to collect, analyze, and use data effectively within an organization. Professionals in analytics strategy help organizations make data-driven decisions by aligning analytics initiatives with business goals. This involves identifying key metrics, selecting appropriate analytics technologies, and ensuring that data insights lead to actionable outcomes. An effective analytics strategy can improve efficiency, drive innovation, and provide a competitive advantage.

How does an Analytics Strategy professional typically collaborate with other departments within an organization?

Analytics Strategy professionals often act as a bridge between data teams and business units, working closely with departments such as marketing, finance, operations, and IT. They translate business objectives into data-driven strategies and ensure that analytics initiatives align with organizational goals. Collaboration often involves leading cross-functional meetings, understanding the specific needs of each department, and communicating insights in a clear, actionable manner. This collaborative environment helps drive adoption of analytical solutions and maximizes organizational impact.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Analytics Strategy, and why are they important?

To excel in Analytics Strategy, you need strong analytical thinking, data interpretation skills, and a background in business, statistics, or a related field. Expertise with data visualization tools (like Tableau or Power BI), statistical software (such as R or Python), and experience with data management systems are typically required. Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication enable professionals to translate analytical insights into actionable business recommendations. These skills are critical to inform decision-making and drive organizational growth through data-driven strategies.

Job description

About Us
Mission is an award-winning brand marketing and advertising agency that thrives on a unique blend of passion, strategic thinking, and hard-earned intuition. We don't just graze the surface; we dive deep into your ecosystem to navigate complex business challenges and champion your brand through every stage of its lifecycle. Our commitment is to maximize your impact and drive long-term success through creative and strategic brilliance.
The Role
As an Advertising & Analytics Strategist, you are the architect of high-performance omni-channel ecosystems that bridge the gap between creative storytelling and measurable growth. You will lead the strategy and execution of integrated media plans, moving seamlessly between digital performance and traditional brand awareness. This role is built for a data-driven specialist who sees the human story behind the analytics and knows exactly how to pivot to keep a brand ahead of the curve.
Key Responsibilities
  • Omni-Channel Media Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive media plans that blend traditional channels (TV, Radio, OOH) with digital tactics to meet client KPIs and maximize reach.
  • Architect & Execute Paid Media: Design, launch, and relentlessly optimize multi-channel digital campaigns across Google, Microsoft, Meta, and other social channels, ensuring budgets are maximized for impact and conversions.
  • Data Synthesis & Visualization: Build and manage automated Looker Studio dashboards that blend data from multiple sources (Social, Search, GA, Programmatic, etc.) to provide a holistic view of campaign performance.
  • Traditional Media Management: Negotiate, purchase, and monitor traditional media placements, managing the full lifecycle from initial RFP to post-buy analysis and reconciliation.
  • Master the Search Landscape: Own the SEM and SEO strategy from keyword research to technical implementation, ensuring our clients dominate high-intent search and AI-driven discovery.
  • Insight-Driven Reporting: Convert complex data into compelling, client-ready "topline" updates that provide actionable insights rather than just raw numbers.
  • Conversion Optimization: Constantly audit and refine the digital user journey from ad copy to landing pages to remove friction and increase performance.

What We're Looking For Must-Haves:
  • Experience Needed: 3+ years in paid media, having developed strategy and executed campaigns across all digital paid media channels, including search, display, social (including TikTok), video, and traditional advertising.
  • Strategic Vision: Proven ability to translate high-level client goals into cohesive, results-oriented paid media strategies.
  • Analytical Rigor: Excellent research and analytical skills with a knack for identifying trends within complex datasets.
  • Certified Expertise: Google Ads Certified (including Search, Display, Video, Shopping, and Measurement).
  • Technical Proficiency: Professional experience in Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager for tracking and attribution.

The Nice-to-Haves:
  • Agency-side experience working with a diverse portfolio of B2B and B2C clients.
  • Google Analytics Certified (preferred).
  • Microsoft Advertising Certified (preferred).
  • Familiarity with media buying software (e.g., Strata, Advantage, or Mediaocean).

What We Offer
At Mission, we invest in our people as deeply as we do our brands. We provide a collaborative environment where intuition is valued, and strategic risk-taking is encouraged. You'll have the opportunity to work on award-winning campaigns alongside a team that is as passionate about your professional growth as they are about our clients' success. We offer competitive compensation and the chance to shape the digital future of diverse, exciting brands.
We believe in the power of collaboration and the flexibility of focused remote work. This position is based in our office located in a historic Mill in Hampden, MD. We work together in the office Tuesday through Thursday, with two hybrid days on Monday and Friday to support your work-life balance.
SOME PERKS
  • Hybrid WFH/WFO schedule
  • Summer Fridays
  • Flex-time policy
  • Generous Paid Holidays and PTO
  • Retirement plan with company match
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefit options
  • Employer-paid disability coverage
  • Life insurance options
  • Annual educational stipend
