Test and Evaluation Engineer
Why This is an Exciting Role:
As a Test and Evaluation Engineer at Boeing Intelligence and Analytics (BI&A), you will perform a variety of test integration duties as a member of the GMD System Test Team. Efforts will include providing career level Test Integrator support to the overall System Flight, Ground or Cyber Test Team, development of required test documentation, consolidation of Integrated Event Team (IET) Meeting inputs and meeting conduct, and general test conduct per the MDA Integrated Test Plan, Industry GMD Test Plan, and MDS Test CONOPS. The specific tasks associated with this position are:
  • Support Test Managers and Leads during Flight, Cyber, and Ground Tests in both a HWIL Lab setting and Distributed, Field environment.
  • Review, update, and release test documentation.
  • Travel with test team and perform System Test Integrator functions (e.g. generate Test Information Sheets (TIS), develop Positive Access Controls (PAC), interface with Operations through the GMD Mission Operations Center (GMOC) to coordinate asset availability and troubleshoot connection issues, other coordination and integration efforts).
  • Execute the Engineering Life Cycle for the HW refresh, maintenance, and upgrade of test infrastructure.
  • Support Digital Engineering and Agile efforts through the conduct of Test SCRUMs and other DE platforms.
  • Crosstrain with members of System Test (Ground, Flight, and Cyber).
  • Openly communicate and collaborate across engineering and non-engineering functions.
  • Ability to safely climb ladder and step ladder.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.

Experience and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Required Education and Years of Experience:
  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically five (5) or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of time to either industry or government facilities. Travel may be in multiple rotations over the course of several months or shorter trips, as needed, to support on-site inspections, verification testing, and general oversight.
  • Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems.
  • The ability to communicate with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting test planning, integration, and execution.
  • Experience conducting System Level Testing and Pre-Mission Testing IAW MDS Test CONOPS, troubleshooting, and developing simple test procedures.
  • Experience performing field integration to include interfacing with operations, asset scheduling and tracking, and generation of Positive Access Control sheets and Test Information Sheets.
  • Experience with the Ballistic Missile Defense System, Ground-based Midcourse Defense program and/or the Missile Defense Agency.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with operating in an Agile environment, conducting SCRUMs, and utilizing GitLab or other Agile tools.
  • Familiarity with Network Design and Computer Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Test Equipment and Instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and associated Engineering Drawings.
  • Experience interfacing with the customer and collaborating with stakeholders.
