Job description

Smarty is a 10+ year company that is self-funded, profitable, growing, and crazy fun! But don't take our word for it: we were recognized by the Salt Lake Tribune as one of Utah's Top Workplaces for the last 4 years. Come grow with us!
We're looking for a skilled Head of Enterprise Analytics to own the analytics function end-to-end, leading a talented team and shaping how the organization thinks about data by partnering with senior leaders to translate complexity into decisions. You won't just answer the questions on the table, you'll be the person who knows which questions haven't been asked yet. This role thrives in ambiguity and the space between what the data shows and what it means.
This is an onsite, non-remote opening in Orem, UT.
What You'll Do
  • Lead, develop, and scale a high-impact analytics team, establishing enterprise analytics as the organization's source of truth for KPI insights
  • Personally drive exploratory and diagnostic analysis, delivering decision-ready performance diagnostics that highlight trends, anomalies, and opportunities - including ones nobody thought to ask about yet - and synthesizing findings into clear recommendations
  • Develop and manage an intake and prioritization process for analytics requests, ensuring work is sequenced around critical business questions
  • Scale reporting frameworks and analytics infrastructure that support both frontline execution and enterprise-level visibility
  • Identify, size, and prioritize transformation initiatives, connecting analytical findings to measurable operational outcomes
  • Establish and document standardized business definitions and data governance conventions across the organization
  • Establish tracking mechanisms to measure progress and impact against organizational goals
  • Provide analytical leadership on strategic initiatives including automation, AI enablement, vendor strategy, and process redesign
  • Ensure data integrity, metric consistency, and governance across operational reporting
  • Partner with senior leaders to translate complex data into clear, decision-ready narratives that drive action
  • Oversee data engineering functions including pipeline development, data modeling, and warehouse architecture, ensuring analytics outputs are built on reliable, well-governed data foundations

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field; Master's degree or MBA preferred, or equivalent experience
  • 6-10+ years of progressive experience in analytics, strategy, operations, or consulting, including experience leading analysts or cross-functional initiatives
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing analytics teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong operational acumen, with a track record of translating analytical work into measurable business impact
  • Advanced analytical expertise, including the ability to model complex operational scenarios and develop data-driven recommendations
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear and compelling narratives
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint or equivalents; strong SQL and Power BI experience required; Python a plus
  • High comfort level operating in ambiguity

What We'll Do for You
Benefits & Perks
  • Competitive compensation (DOE)
  • 100% paid health, dental, and basic life insurance premiums (including family coverage)
  • Long-term disability insurance
  • Generous PTO that increases with tenure
  • 401(k) with company matching
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Adjustable standing desk and modern tools
  • Drinks, snacks, team lunches, and activities
  • In-office chiropractic services
  • Company retreats and trips to genuinely fun places
