JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing significant amounts of new business, while maintaining long term relationships with our current clients and allies.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Significant level of responsibility for the development and execution of sales strategies to drive client acquisition.
  • Effectively deliver Boston Analytical company presentation to prospective clients and current clients.
  • Manage entire sales process from lead generation through conversion to active client.
  • Maintain and grow (cross-selling / up-selling) existing accounts by regular interactions with clients, including collaboration with the project management team.
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate pricing contracts to clients for services.
  • Achieve sales revenue goals.
  • Work collaboratively with fellow local and national team members.
  • Diligently maintain CRM (Salesforce) data in real time.
  • Collect and Provide market intelligence back Leadership and Marketing
  • Support marketing initiatives to foster company success.
  • Attend company related off site functions and conferences as needed.


REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a Chemistry, Biology or related science discipline with > 7 years' of Sales experience in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Outsourcing marketplace or at least 5 years tenure at Boston Analytical. History of success gaining new clients and new client revenue. Formal Sales training preferred. Capable of managing larger national level accounts that exceed 2M in annual revenue. Previous laboratory experience with analytical and/or microbiology testing preferred. Successful candidate will have strong presentation, communication, analytical and customer service skills. Must be a highly motivated and organized individual with the ability to work autonomously. Attending professional networking meetings before and after normal business hours may be required. Travel within the U.S. Strong negotiation skills.

An understanding of the following: USP Microbiological Procedures , HPLC / GC , Dissolution, Method Validation, Extractables and Leachables testing, Product Release and Stability Testing and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's). Characterization of Biologic drug forms, including LBP's.

MINIMUM SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Ability to effectively apply newly learned knowledge and skills.
  • A self-starter, motivated person who possesses good interpersonal skills capable of effectively interacting with all departments and client personnel.
  • Must have excellent organizational, verbal communication, time management and technical documentation skills.
  • Must be a team player with integrity and concern for the quality of Company products, services and staff members.
