Sr. Analytical Lab Technician
The Sr. Analytical Lab Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests and quality protocols on materials and plastic packaging to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications. This role works closely within the analytical lab team and project engineers to generate, analyze, and report test data. In a small company environment, the ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple testing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency. Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems is beneficial.

Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing amp; Quality Assurance
  • Perform physical, mechanical, and/or environmental testing on materials and plastic packaging according to established protocols
  • Ensure all testing meets internal quality standards and customer specifications
  • Interpret test methods and apply them accurately to various materials and product types
  • Identify and communicate non-conformance issues or deviations
Equipment Operation amp; Maintenance
  • Set up, calibrate, verify, and operate a variety of laboratory testing equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of lab instruments
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly and meets calibration requirements
Data Collection amp; Reporting
  • Accurately record test results in spreadsheets, databases, and reports
  • Partner with project engineers to analyze results and ensure alignment with specifications
  • Provide timely and clear reporting to support project and quality decisions
Collaboration with Engineering
  • Work closely with project engineers to understand testing requirements and specifications
  • Participate in method development and validation activities through testing and data feedback
  • Assist in refining test methods and protocols as needed
Scheduling amp; Workflow Management
  • Follow and manage a schedule of testing assignments and priorities
  • Coordinate testing timelines to meet project deadlines
  • Communicate status updates and potential delays proactively
Documentation, Compliance amp; ISO Support
  • Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records and documentation
  • Follow company quality procedures and safety guidelines
  • Support compliance with applicable quality standards and internal procedures
  • Assist in maintaining and improving quality systems aligned with ISO standards (e.g., document control, traceability, and test method consistency)
  • Participate in internal or external audits as needed, including preparation of documentation and records

Qualifications
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in a technical field (e.g., Materials Science, Chemistry) or equivalent hands-on experience
  • 4+ years of laboratory or manufacturing testing experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of quality testing methods and lab best practices
  • Experience operating and calibrating laboratory equipment
  • Understanding of Measurement Systems Analysis, or aptitude to learn
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data reporting tools
  • Ability to read and follow technical specifications and test protocols
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and documentation skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
