Job description

At Printpack, we specialize in preserving and enhancing the communities we serve through innovative packaging solutions designed to ensure product quality, brand protection, and environmental responsibility.
Printpack's Analytical Science Team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support analytical testing, product investigations, and research activities within our packaging and materials science organization. This internship offers hands-on experience working alongside scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing and R&D environment.
The intern will assist with laboratory testing, data analysis, documentation, and troubleshooting activities related to packaging materials, product performance, and manufacturing support. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, polymer science, or related technical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with analytical testing and evaluation of packaging materials, films, coatings, adhesives, inks, and related products
  • Support competitive analyses and product breakdown activities
  • Prepare samples and conduct routine laboratory testing under supervision
  • Assist with data collection, interpretation, and technical documentation
  • Help maintain laboratory organization, calibration records, and testing equipment
  • Participate in troubleshooting investigations related to manufacturing and product performance
  • Support method development and validation activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Development
  • Follow laboratory safety procedures and ISO documentation practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
    • Chemistry
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Materials Science
    • Polymer Science
    • Packaging Science
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Or a related technical field
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
  • Interest in laboratory work, analytical testing, and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis
  • Previous laboratory or research experience preferred but not required
