About Cascades Greenpac Mill 

Started in 2013, Greenpac Mill is a state-of-the-art 100% recycled linerboard mill in Niagara Falls, NY, supplying the corrugated box industry. Thanks to numerous technological advances, Greenpac manufactures one of the best linerboards in the industry and is a leader in terms of sustainable development.  

What We Offer 

You will learn the papermaking process and contribute to projects in multiple potential areas including stock preparation, wet end, and dry end. The manufacturing process begins at stock preparation where old corrugated cardboard (OCC) is transformed into usable stock using a pulper and multiple physical separation processes to filter out undesired materials such as metal and plastic. In the wet end of the paper machine, the focus is on forming a strong, high-quality sheet and begin the dewatering process via chemistry, gravity, vacuum, and pressing. Finally, at the dry end of the paper machine, dewatering is completed utilizing steam cans, and the paper is wound tightly into customer rolls. 

Throughout your projects, you will be coached on Lean Six Sigma tools, data analysis, and effective meeting facilitation – skills that are transferable to any industry.  

You will collaborate with engineers, technical professionals, and production technicians on process improvement projects relating to efficiency, reducing machine downtime, product quality & more. 

Some additional responsibilities within an Engineering Internship at Greenpac Mill may include regular lab testing, assisting with chemical/process trials, data analysis, and standard operating procedure (SOP) creation.
