Job Summary
The Payroll Analyst is responsible for supporting the accurate and compliant processing of multi-state payroll while providing payroll analysis, reporting, reconciliation, and process improvement support.
Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
  • Review payroll calculations including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and benefit withholdings.

Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare recurring payroll reports for HR, Finance, Accounting, and Operations.
  • Report on payroll metrics and recommend operational improvements.
  • Support payroll tax reconciliation and year-end reporting.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and identify unusual activities requiring investigation.

Compliance & Audit
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Maintain payroll documentation and SOPs that support internal and external audit requirements.

Payroll Systems & Data Management
  • Support payroll system configuration testing and validation.
  • Participate in system implementations, acquisitions, and payroll integrations.
  • Review payroll system data to ensure employee job information and classification codes align with approved job structures maintained by Compensation/HR Systems team.

Customer Support & Collaboration
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding payroll questions.
  • Assist the Payroll Manager in assigned tasks/projects.

Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Associate degree required; bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant payroll experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • 2-4 years of payroll experience, with demonstrated knowledge of payroll processes, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience utilizing payroll software and HRIS systems preferred.
  • Experience auditing payroll data and maintaining accurate payroll records.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business applications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of payroll taxes, Social Security, deductions, and applicable regulations to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to providing responsive and professional support.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with a high level of discretion and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and manage responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
