Job description

Who are we and why should you join us?

BetterHelp is on a mission to remove the traditional barriers to therapy and make mental health care more accessible to everyone. Founded in 2013, we are now the world's largest online therapy service, providing affordable and convenient therapy across the globe. Our network of over 30,000 licensed therapists has helped millions of people take ownership of their mental health and change their lives forever. And we're not stopping there - as the unmet need for mental health services continues to grow, BetterHelp is committed to being part of the solution.

As the Manager of Business Analysis & Insights at BetterHelp, you'll join a diverse team of licensed clinicians, engineers, product pros, creatives, marketers, and business leaders who share a passion for expanding access to therapy. And as a mental health company, we take employee mental health just as seriously as we do our mission. We deeply invest in our team's well-being and professional development, because we know that business and individual growth go hand-in-hand. At BetterHelp, you'll carve your own path, make an immediate impact, and be challenged every day - with a supportive community behind you the whole way.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Business Analysis & Insights to serve as a strategic thought partner to the CFO and executive leadership team across BetterHelp. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys solving ambiguous problems, proactively identifying opportunities, and operating with a high degree of ownership in a fast-paced environment.

We're looking for someone with a strong passion for turning data into compelling narratives and a demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through cross-functional collaboration.  Success in this role requires balancing analytical depth with speed. The ideal candidate knows when to dive deep and when to synthesize quickly, delivering insights that help leaders make better decisions without unnecessary complexity.

What will you do?
  • Executive Communication & Storytelling: Distill complex analyses into concise, executive-ready narratives, adapting communication to audiences ranging from individual contributors to the CFO, President, and executive leadership
  • Strategic Analytics & Decision Support: Lead high-impact analyses that go beyond reporting metrics to identify root causes, quantify business opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations for executive leadership
  • AI-Enabled Analytics: Leverage AI as a core part of the analytical workflow by leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate analysis, improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and increase the speed and quality of insights.  Continuously evaluate new AI capabilities and champion thoughtful adoption across the team
  • Business Strategy: Partner with business decision makers to shape and operationalize the company's strategic roadmap, quantifying and accelerating impact on growth, efficiency, and profitability
  • Analytics Infrastructure: Design scalable analytical frameworks, reusable datasets, automated pipelines, and self-service reporting that improve the organization's ability to make decisions over time
  • Influence Without Authority: Build trusted relationships across Finance, Product, Marketing, Data Science, and Engineering to drive alignment, unblock work, and move initiatives from analysis to execution
  • Execution & Prioritization: Independently manage multiple concurrent initiatives, proactively prioritize work, navigate ambiguity, and balance short-term business needs with longer-term strategic opportunities
What will you NOT do?
  • You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
  • You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
  • You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
  • You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.
Can I work remotely?

Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships. Travel expenses are covered and reasonable accommodations are made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.

Requirements
  • Experience: 8+ years in strategy, analytics, business intelligence, or insights roles, preferably within D2C or fast-paced, high-growth tech environments or in consulting
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree a plus
  • Technical skills: Expert SQL skills are required. Experience with Python (preferred) or R. Strong BI experience (Looker, Tableau, etc.). Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar tools to accelerate analytical workflows and software development is strongly preferred. Experience working with Git, version-controlled analytics workflows and modern analytics engineering practices is preferred
  • Big Data Fluency: Comfortable working with large, complex datasets and leveraging big data technologies or platforms to derive insights at scale
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to connect data to business outcomes, make sound judgment calls with imperfect information, and recommend clear actions - not just analyses
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to senior leaders. Ability to summarize complex analyses into clear executive headlines while maintaining analytical rigor and supporting detail
  • Bias for Action: Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong prioritization skills and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving and execution

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Executive presence and confidence communicating with senior leaders
  • Intellectual curiosity and a strong growth mindset
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Strong ownership and bias toward action
  • Ability to independently identify problems - not just answer assigned questions
  • Balance between analytical depth and practical business decision-making
  • High emotional intelligence and collaborative partnership across functions
  • Demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous business questions into clear analytical approaches and executive recommendations
Benefits
  • Remote work with regular in-person bonding experiences sponsored by the company
  • Competitive compensation
  • Holistic perks program (including free therapy, employee wellness, and more)
  • Excellent health, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401k benefits with employer matching contribution
  • The chance to build something that changes lives - and that people love
  • Any piece of hardware or software that will make you happy and productive
  • An awesome community of co-workers

In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and the extensive benefits listed here (subject to eligibility requirements): Teladoc Health Benefits 2026.
