Staff Product Development Engineer
About the Role
At Analog Devices, you will hold a pivotal role shaping the technical direction and execution of advanced electronic systems and semiconductor technologies. You will be entrusted with guiding engineering efforts, orchestrating cross-functional alignment, and setting the technical vision for complex product initiatives. This position carries broad responsibility for elevating engineering performance, directing strategic decisions, and ensuring teams deliver high-impact, production-ready solutions. You will be a central figure in solving challenging system-level problems and supporting the growth and effectiveness of the engineering organization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overarching technical direction for the evaluation and characterization of RF systems, ADCs, DACs, and high-speed serial interfaces for next-generation transceivers.
  • Oversee complex debug and analysis activities across mixed-signal and RF systems; synthesize findings into clear recommendations that influence design, validation, and product decisions.
  • Shape and drive verification efforts across digital, DSP, and analog feature areas, ensuring comprehensive and efficient validation coverage.
  • Establish methodology and strategic test approaches for RF measurements-including linearity, noise figure, EVM, and related performance metrics-on advanced radio platforms.
  • Architect and implement automated test infrastructures using Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and associated toolchains to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability.
  • Recommend and influence test strategies, equipment selection, and lab capabilities to advance operational performance and support future platform evolution.
  • Work closely with design, test, applications, software, and marketing teams to ensure alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with applications/marketing teams and customers to resolve complex product issues and drive successful deployment in real-world environments.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present measurement data to large technical groups, shaping decisions and enabling informed product direction.
  • Support the development of junior engineers through guidance, technical direction, and knowledge sharing that strengthens team capability and execution.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BSEE degree, MSEE degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and elevate a group of junior engineers through the verification and release of complex wireless solutions, ensuring strong execution, technical alignment, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Successful track record bringing complex wireless platforms from concept through market release
  • Extensive experience automating RF test flows and using advanced lab instrumentation (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes)
  • Strong understanding of RF fundamentals: linearity (1-tone, 2-tone), noise figure, S-parameters, spurious analysis, phase noise, and related concepts
  • Deep proficiency in analog and RF circuits, high-speed serial interfaces, ADCs/DACs, and mixed-signal system behavior
  • Knowledge of DSP principles including FFTs, sampling theory, and digital filters
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving strengths
  • Excellent communication skills-capable of delivering clear, concise, and actionable technical insights
  • Highly effective collaborator within diverse, multi-disciplinary engineering environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or C/C++/C#
  • Experience partnering with firmware teams on defining and validating complex DSP algorithms
