SENIOR ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

We are looking for a talented Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join the Nordson EFD product design team. In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing, and debugging electrical hardware for electro-mechanical systems that enables precision manufacturing processes and fluid handling. You will work on complex hardware-software interaction problems that require strong analytical and data driven approaches to make our products smarter, connected, and intelligent.
How YOU will make an impact:
  • Lead development of mixed signal circuits/power conversion/analog) for embedded controllers to serve mission critical industrial and life science applications.
  • Develop system architecture using single board computers (SBCs), system on a module (SOM), custom circuit boards, and off the shelf communication interfaces.
  • Collaborate with firmware engineers to develop code utilizing Python, C, C++, HDL, and assembly languages.
  • Create design verification and validation plans, oversee execution of tests, analyze results, debug failures, and support product safety and electromagnetic compliance certification.
  • Participate in new technology evaluations, voice of customer exercises, competitive benchmarking and production launch support.

Qualifications To Be Successful:
  • 5 years' experience launching electro-mechanical products with embedded systems, real time control and digital communication interfaces.
  • Proficient in designing circuits for actuators, digital communications, EMC/safety compliance and sensor data acquisition that include microcontrollers, FPGA's or Single board computers (SBC's) or system on a modules (SOM's)
  • Expertise in circuit simulation, schematic capture, BOM creation, and PCB layouts using OrCAD (with EDM) or similar CAD software with integrated design data management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with firmware development.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a global team.
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
