onsemi is seeking a MTS, Analog Design Engineer to join our team in East Greenwich, RI. This group is responsible for development of Smart Power FET products for consumer, industrial and automotive applications.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with marketing and customers to define system-level requirements and IC specifications.
  • Define and oversee detailed simulations using modern EDA tools and accurate models.
  • Work closely with layout engineers to translate schematics into silicon.
  • Lead technical aspects of projects including task planning and coordination.
  • Write design documentation and test plans.
  • Support product qualification and manufacturing, including yield improvement and customer issue resolution.
  • Own technical outcomes of design, verification, implementation, and execution of power management ICs with complexities that can span from simple regulators to complex mixed-signal designs and control loops.
  • Understand project goals, create a realistic schedule and resource plan, track execution schedule to plan, monitor progress, and provide full clarity to the team on the goals and objectives.
  • Ensure first-pass success and timely execution using established design methodologies.

Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in mixed-signal design and/or verification.
  • Solid track record of designing multiple complex IPs with Si learnings
  • Understand and execute IP design, simulations methods, boundary conditions, stress and reliability simulations, PVT/PMC/SOA simulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies
  • Strong CMOS circuit design fundamentals, circuit architectures.
  • Ability to clearly articulate issues, challenges, and concerns to all levels of management
  • Good understanding of various building blocks like charge pump, LDOs, gate drivers, comparators, linear regulators, gm-stage and relevant Analog building blocks
  • Understanding of LED drivers, SiC/GAN devices and drivers is a strong plus
  • Strong Analog IC design skills, debug of complex silicon problems using simulations and/or bench testing
  • Familiarity with advanced Bipolar, CMOS, and High Voltage BCD technology, Process, Device Physics, Semiconductor Manufacturing processes, and their impact on Analog performance
  • understanding of power transistor Design, Layout, and Robustness
  • Proficiency in leading-edge design and verification tools such as Simplis or MATLAB for architectural simulations, Cadence Spectre for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and tape-out
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to quickly ramp on new systems and processes
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is $127,800.00 to $219,000.00 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
