Job description

Staff Electrical Engineer – Radiation-Hardened IC Design

We are seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join our elite Radiation-Hardened (Rad‑Hard) IC design team in either Research Triangle Park, NC or Palm Bay, FL. In this role, you will design innovative, high‑performance, and highly profitable products specifically targeted toward Space markets.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of designing Analog and Mixed‑Signal ICs for Precision Analog and Power Management applications. You will be at the forefront of creating state‑of‑the‑art, ultra‑low quiescent‑current 40V to 100V DC‑DC switching converters, LDOs, and multifunction power management circuits.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate on product definition with marketing, applications, and customers.
  • Apply an in-depth understanding of power process technologies (both existing and under development) to design next‑generation power management products.
  • Execute transistor‑level design of mixed‑signal circuits for new and derivative power management products.
  • Lead and manage programs to successfully achieve scheduled project objectives.
  • Validate and debug products prior to transferring them to production engineering.
  • Interface seamlessly with cross‑functional process, test, product, application, and marketing teams to bring new products from initial concept through production release.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Deep understanding of integrated analog circuit design, as well as bipolar, BiCMOS, and BCD process technologies.
  • Strong grasp of large‑power transistor (bipolar and DMOS) design, layout, and robustness.
  • Thorough knowledge of various switch‑mode power‑conversion topologies (boost, buck, multiple‑phase current sharing, and various control methods).
  • Hands‑on experience with Cadence tools for analog design and mixed‑signal simulation.
  • Experience with behavioral top‑level modeling, mixed‑signal verification methodologies, analog/digital interfaces, and digital buses.
  • Demonstrated ability to be highly self‑motivated and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice‑to‑Haves)
  • Direct experience with radiation‑hardened (Rad‑Hard) power management products.
  • Familiarity with gate driver techniques and a solid understanding of control systems.
Education
  • BSEE required (MSEE or PhD preferred) or equivalent industry experience.
