NASCAR SpeedPark: PARC Pigeon Forge, LLC, a division of PARC Entertainment, LLC ("PARC"), owns and operates the NASCAR SpeedPark in Sevierville, Tennessee. As an officially licensed attraction of the National Association for Stock Car Racing ("NASCAR"), the park offers exciting side-by-side go-kart racing on eight tracks, together with amusement rides, miniature golf courses, bumper boats, an arcade and other family-oriented entertainment. Job Purpose: Service, maintain and help assemble our amusement rides. Complete a daily inspection and start up process to identify maintenance issues. Regularly maintain rides, prepare for yearly inspections. Assist with park maintenance projects. To ensure safety, mechanics must follow all company rules and regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Demonstrate "People-First":

  • Adhere to Company ethical requirements, demonstrating the utmost integrity in all professional and personal matters.
  • Promote a Harassment-free workplace by minimizing gossip, treating all team members with respect and reporting inappropriate behavior or conversations that could be considered harassment or discriminatory.
  • Give directions in a manner that is professional, clear, caring and firm.
  • Answer general questions and be helpful, friendly and courteous.

Demonstrate "Always Safe":

  • Follow Mechanic Safety Guidelines
  • Perform daily inspections of assigned rides and complete checklists/ logs for maintenance needed and performed.
  • Inspect, clean, maintain, service and repair amusement ride systems to ensure optimal performance and safety
  • Ensure ride are operating properly.
  • Ensure highest levels of safety are maintained by adhering to OSHA, local health and safety codes, legal regulations and company safety and security policies are met.
  • Communicate, follow and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Report any malfunction immediately to supervisor.
  • Operate machinery only when properly signed-off
  • Maintain proper cleaning/ sanitizing and organizing procedures.
  • Use proper radio etiquette.
  • Proper use and care of company equipment.
  • Use lock-out, tag-out procedures.
  • Use safe lifting techniques.
  • Communicate with teammates clearly before performing tasks that involve heavy equipment or could have the risk of injury.

Demonstrate "Remember It's Fun":

  • Be enthusiastic and promote a friendly and fun atmosphere for our team members and guests.
  • Promote a mutually supportive, unified, "we are all on the same team" relationship with team members in all departments and divisions.

Demonstrate "Commit to Excellence"

  • Maintain, erect, repair and troubleshoot rides and attractions both mechanically and electrically to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Keep a ride parts inventory and notify the supervisor of any materials necessary to ensure safe, continuous operation.
  • Work in conjunction with other staff solving ride-related, go-kart related and facilities-related problems.
  • Dress professionally in clean, neat uniform
  • Maintain and clean and organized environment in maintenance shops, mechanical spaces and back areas
  • Complete necessary documentation of ride & track inspection, opening and closing duties and timekeeping.
  • Ensure professional development to enhance work knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, expectations and requirements.
  • Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance with the designated timeframe, as determined by the reporting leader.
  • Adhere to Company ethical requirements, demonstrating the utmost integrity in all professional and personal matters.
  • Provide reporting leader with feedback, ideas and suggestions on a timely basis.
  • Duties supervisor deems necessary for park operations.

Skills, Requirements, and Qualifications

  • Relationships - Demonstrated ability to advance PARC's "People First" core value, through the establishment of positive, respectful relationships and working effectively with all internal and external constituencies.
  • Required Education- Able to read, write, speak and follow directions.
  • Preferred Experience -At least 1-3 years of work in related field preferred.Ride Mechanics must have knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Certification/Licensure -none necessary, OSHA or NAARSO Training preferred.
  • Specific Vision Requirements - Color and peripheral vision, Close vision, distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
  • Special Skills -Positive and effective customer service skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time. Good communication skills. Able to stay alert and be consistent with repetitive tasks.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, pull, push, talk and hear. Occasionally climb stairs or a ladder.
  • Able to maintain visual contact with the ride and the guests.
  • Able to work at heights of over 25 ft.
  • Extended standing and walking, occasional pushing, pulling, running and jogging.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • The noise level is moderate to high/ loud.
  • Regularly exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time, including direct sunlight, heat and cold.
  • Routinely exposed to dust and particles.
