Job description

Temporary ASCP/AMT Technician

Part-time contract for an 8-week assignment in Janesville, Wisconsin. The role requires a licensed medical laboratory professional to perform blood bank, hematology, chemistry, and phlebotomy testing, while maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and timely blood bank, hematology, chemistry, and phlebotomy testing, following hospital protocols.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, perform quality control, and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Document procedures, results, and maintenance activities in the laboratory information system.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to communicate test results and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Follow safety protocols and infection control guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited training program in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
  • ASCP certification or AMT certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of generalist laboratory experience with strong phlebotomy and blood bank skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to work night shifts.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
