Job description

Reports To: Product Support Manager/Store Manager Supervises: None FLSA Status: Exempt Lead the Future of Precision Agriculture. As a Product and Technology Support Specialist, you'll provide agronomic solutions and technical support for the sale, implementation, and ongoing use of John Deere Agriculture Management Solutions (AMS) equipment while serving as a trusted advisor to your customers. This role offers the opportunity to build lasting customer relationships, promote leading-edge precision agriculture solutions, and help growers maximize productivity and profitability. Working collaboratively across all dealership departments, you'll deliver exceptional customer service, lead technology adoption, provide training and technical support, and play a key role in advancing the success of both our customers and Sloan Implement. Depending on experience, a six-month to one-year training program at our Atwood, Illinois location may be required. What You'll Do:
  • Lead the sale and promotion of John Deere Precision Farming and Agriculture Management Solutions (AMS) products.
  • Utilize company systems and tools to follow a structured sales process.
  • Champion the adoption of emerging precision agriculture technologies and new product offerings.
  • Develop and execute an AMS marketing plan that educates customers on available products and services.
  • Conduct preseason on-farm customer training, equipment setup, in-field startups, and troubleshooting.
  • Deliver advanced customer training on desktop software, data management, and John Deere precision technology.
  • Respond promptly to customer questions through phone support, remote assistance, or on-site visits.
  • Manage customer follow-up and ensure a high level of satisfaction with AMS products and services.
  • Serve as the dealership's technical expert for the complete John Deere AMS product line.
  • Identify, develop, and lead training opportunities for both customers and dealership employees.
  • Collaborate with all dealership departments to provide seamless customer support and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Business, Agricultural Mechanization, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Ability to maintain driving eligibility in accordance with company Motor Vehicle Records requirements throughout employment.
  • Must pass a DOT physical and renew certification annually as a condition of continued employment.
  • Working knowledge of database software and computer applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard internet applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups.
  • Flexibility to work hours that meet seasonal and customer needs.

All benefits are subject to change. Pay Information: The salary pay range for this position is $50,000 to $90,000. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base salary for this role. Based on factor such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made. In Season Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 7am-12pm (rotation) Off Season/Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm *In Season Hours may be extended during peak seasons (planting, harvest, or any other peak selling season) to meet the needs of the store. Extended Hours are determined by the needs of the store and subject to change. * *Off season hours are from November-March. Start and end date to winter hours is dependent on year and subject to change. *
