About us:
Animal Emergency of Gainesville offers emergency services and intensive care. Our veterinary team is highly trained and experienced in emergency medicine, and we are dedicated to providing the highest level of care for every pet. Our exceptional team in Gainesville, GA is dedicated to providing every pet with compassionate veterinary care. Whether we're needed for routine or complex cases, our professionals prioritize each pet's well-being at all times, ensuring their health and happiness at every step.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a veterinary assistant required.
  • Previous small animal emergency and critical care experience (3+ years) preferred.
  • Strong animal handling and restraint skills, with knowledge of veterinary clinical procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with veterinary equipment, instruments, and industry-standard tools.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures in accordance with the Scope of Practice established by the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Safely handle and restrain patients; administer medications and vaccines as directed and permitted by the Scope of Practice.
  • Collect laboratory samples, perform basic diagnostics as assigned, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Educate clients on pet care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions as appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work environment.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
