The Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County is seeking 5Â AmeriCorps STEM Specialists to bring exciting, hands-on STEM learning experiences to elementary students during our after-school programs.
This is an excellent opportunity for college students, future educators, STEM majors, or anyone passionate about working with youth and making a positive impact in the community.
School Locations- Heritage Elementary
- Legacy Elementary
- Panorama Elementary
- Paradise Canyon Elementary
- Sandstone Elementary
Schedule- Mid-August 2026 – May 2027
- Monday–Friday
- Approximately 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- 12–16 hours per week
AmeriCorps Service CommitmentThis is an AmeriCorps national service position, not a traditional hourly job.
Members commit to completing two 300-hour service terms during the school year:
- Term 1: August – December 2026
- Term 2: January – May 2027
This experience provides valuable teaching, leadership, and community service experience while helping prepare you for careers in education, STEM, or youth development.
BenefitsLiving AllowanceReceive a $4,800 living allowance per service term, paid bi-weekly throughout each term (stipend-not hourly pay).
Education AwardAfter successfully completing each term, you'll earn a $1,565.08 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, which can be used toward qualified educational expenses or eligible student loans.

What You'll DoAs an AmeriCorps STEM Specialist, you will:
- Lead engaging, hands-on STEM lessons
- Inspire curiosity and confidence in science, technology, engineering, and math
- Build positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and teammates
- Supervise youth during indoor and outdoor activities
- Encourage participation and positive behavior
- Track lesson plans, attendance, and student progress
- Complete weekly timesheets and monthly reports
- Participate in staff meetings and AmeriCorps training
- Help create a fun, safe, and inclusive after-school environment
QualificationsApplicants must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Meet AmeriCorps eligibility requirements
- Have experience working with children
- Possess a valid driver's license
Preferred qualifications include experience or coursework in:
- Science
- Technology
- Engineering
- Mathematics
- Education
- Teaching
- Youth Development
CPR and First Aid certification may be required.
