Classification Title:
Welding Trainer (Pool)
Department:
Welding Technology
Physical Demands:
Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.
Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Reports to the Director of Mechanical and Construction Technologies
  • Trains students in the assigned welding labs
  • Monitors for safe practices in lab and reports problems to instructor

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Advanced certification in welding technology or equivalent coursework
  • American Welding Society Certification Welding Inspector preferred; Minimum 3 years work experience as a welding technician
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good communication skills including oral and written
  • Exceptional education or work experiences may be given special consideration
