Job Description

The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. They ensure that patients and families receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. Nursing practice is guided by professional standards and evidence-based research. RN Clinical Nurses uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the applicable Nurse Practice Act. Collaboration with patients and their significant others is paramount. Care delivery is adapted to reflect an understanding of diverse populations. Nurses coordinate care through effective partnerships. They participate in interdisciplinary rounds and case reviews. Documentation of patient care is timely and respectful of all stakeholders. Participation in performance improvement initiatives is expected. The position involves mentoring other professional nurses and creating a healthy work environment. Nurses promote evidence-based practice and research. They uphold policies and clinical competencies established by governing bodies. Participants in data collection analyze clinical questions and seek expert consultations as needed. Proactive planning for patient care across the continuum is essential.
