Job description

Overview

Gibbon Packing, LLC an American Foods Group Company has an opportunity for a Security Guard at our Gibbon, NE plant.

Essential Functions:

  • Utilize gate houses to control access and prevent unauthorized access to buildings and property.
  • Greet and monitor employees, visitors, vendors, and consultants granted access to buildings and property.
  • Disarm all alarms and activate card access readers on buildings when necessary for that shift.
  • Arm, lock and secure all buildings nightly or on company holidays when necessary for that shift.
  • Respond to any emergency situation as called.
  • Staff gatehouses, greeting employees, customers, visitors, and vendors, providing assistance, information and visitor parking passes in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Maintain an active list of all temporary associates, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Patrol the surrounding premises.
  • Assist with the cattle unloading process when necessary.
  • NOTE: this description is not intended to be all-inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization; these duties are considered marginal.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be able to work in a variety of work temperatures warm, hot, humid, cold, wet or with slippery surfaces at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to work extended scheduled hours which includes nights and weekends.  Must be able to work overtime as required and varying shifts.
  • Must be willing and able to use a firearm.
  • Must be able to successfully complete training:
    • Safety.
    • Safe Quality Food (SQF).
    • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
    • Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP).
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
    • Food defense.
    • Humane Handling
