Job description

Overview
We are looking for Experienced Semiconductor Equipment Technicians in the Microcircuit Emulation Center at SRI International (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) which will support the manufacturing of microcircuits (integrated circuits). Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) and Advanced Microcircuit Emulation (AME) programs, the Microcircuit Emulation Center supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. Check out our work! This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system. SRI's Microcircuit Emulation Center is a government-supported, U.S.-based Trusted foundry.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, manufacturing support, and regular preventative and/or corrective maintenance of semiconductor manufacturing equipment including electrical, mechanical or software installation, comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, and repairs to non-functioning equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and software problems to determine fixes and make repairs due to unscheduled downtime.
  • Interact with internal SRI departments (i.e., Purchasing, Shipping, Receiving, Model Shop, Facilities) to ensure timely acquisition of necessary equipment and services to keep the equipment and related facilities of the Wafer Fab running.
  • Perform minor repairs on facility related equipment/systems in the Wafer Fab (may include plumbing, electrical, and carpentry/painting work).
  • Work with senior scientists and engineers within the Microcircuit Emulation Center to identify opportunities and implement solutions for process and procedural improvements.
  • Work to understand the semiconductor industry and obtain working knowledge of the machines used in production.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in a field services, or manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge in areas including electronic troubleshooting, electrical line voltage, mechanics, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • Experience with the use of basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, power drills, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of blueprints and schematics
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required due to government contracts
  • High school diploma or equivalent, trade school or related experience
    Must be detail oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Able to work as a team and interact effectively with others
  • Willing to learn new skills and be trained
  • Must follow safety protocols and be comfortable wearing and working in the required PPE.
  • Able to work First shift M-F 6:00am -2:30pm with occasional Second Shift rotation

The salary range is: Level II-$26.49-$35.10/hr. Level III-$30.71-$40.69/hr. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
