As the fastest-growing appliance company in the U.S., we're powered by creators, thinkers and makers who believe that anything is possible and that there's always a better way. We believe in the power of our people and in giving them the freedom to explore, discover and build good things, together.
The GE Appliances philosophy, backed by three simple commitments defines the way we work, invent, create, do business, and serve our communities: we come together, we always look for a better way, and we create possibilities.
Interested in joining us on our journey?
We are seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to support high-volume dishwasher manufacturing within the appliance industry. This role is responsible for leading capital equipment and manufacturing process projects that support new product introductions, cost reduction, safety, quality, and plant performance improvements. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on manufacturing experience, strong project execution skills, and the ability to work effectively across engineering, operations, suppliers, and plant teams.
Position

  • Develop and improve assembly and metal fabrication processes to support safety, quality, throughput, and labor efficiency goals.
  • Partner with product engineering to ensure Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles are incorporated into product and process design.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, EHS, quality, and industrial engineering teams to implement robust, safe, and efficient manufacturing solutions.

  • Work with automation and robotics engineers and external suppliers to develop cost-effective automation solutions.
  • Drive equipment reliability and process robustness to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including control plans, work instructions, and process standards.
  • Train operators, technicians, and maintenance personnel on equipment operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing, preferably in appliance, automotive, or consumer durable goods industries.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or product launch activities.
  • Experience with capital equipment procurement, installation, and qualification.
  • Knowledge of assembly processes, metal fabrication, workstation design, and material presentation.

  • Familiarity with GD&T, DFMA, TPM, OEE, control plans, and process documentation.
  • Experience driving safety, quality, and productivity improvements in a plant environment.
  • Prior experience with Creo or SolidWorks or equivalent tools.

Working Conditions:
  • This position is primarily based in Louisville, KY, but requires travel to other locations as needed. The primary work schedule is the 1st shift; however, occasional support during weekends, 2nd, and 3rd shifts may be necessary.
  • Working conditions are normal for a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Work may involve lifting materials and products up to 30 pounds and working in and around heavy equipment.
