Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
We are seeking an experienced Power Controls Engineer to join the satellite power systems team

You will be responsible to develop models and state estimation algorithms for satellite power system including solar arrays, power conversion, and energy storage.
You will work closely with a world-class team of engineers and business leaders to build/integrate models for satellite power system including battery model (equivalent-circuit, aging, physics-based) and solar array degradation model. You will also work on state estimation algorithms such as battery state of charge, battery state of health, and state of power of a battery which can be deployed on embedded or cloud platforms.

You will be responsible for overall modeling & algorithm design, deployment, and test verification.
You will work with large datasets to evaluate health of battery over life and track accuracy of models and performance of system to vehicle requirements. You will also work on development and implementation of power system fault detection and mitigation.


Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S

as a refugee or granted asylum.
