Job description

SUMMARY: Our warehouse team is looking for a Warehouse Associate that is reliable and hard-working to be able to support production and warehouse needs across the facility. We are looking for someone that will be responsible for supplying materials and ingredients to production departments in a timely manner.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fosters a sense of teamwork and collaboration among team members by building an employee culture that is aligned with HCC Values and operating principles. Ensures all employees are treated consistently, fairly, ethically, and respectfully
  • Responsible for following established policies and procedures implemented at the operational level including food safety and quality
  • Adherence to all applicable Quality Assurance Standards (i.e., Good Manufacturing Practices, Allergen Control)
  • Adherence to all applicable OSHA and Honolulu Cookie Company safety regulations
  • Responsible in maintaining Allergen food contact responsibilities
  • Process incoming shipments of raw ingredients and small shipments of supplies; verify code dates and case count
  • Accurately scans and enters inventory information into database to record and track (Lot, SKU, Qty, Temperature); prints and applies item labels and performs cycle count as required
  • Process and maintain internal documentation for Quality Assurance and other department- related items
  • Assist in company product trace exercises during QA plant audits, and provide proper documentation
  • Communicate to Lead/Supervisor if there is no product available in pick location or if the product is totally out
  • Ensures all lot numbers are recorded upon receiving; materials that are considered direct food contact properly logged according to procedures
  • Properly stores and labels all materials (component and non-component, supplies and finished products)
  • Replenishes, restocks and rotates all goods to ensure that all merchandise are rotated following FIFO method
  • Notify Purchasing Specialist(s)/ Production Manager when product nears the expiration date
  • Properly records and disposes rejected ingredients, materials, trash and chemicals
  • Operates forklift, hand truck/warehouse carts, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment in a professional and safe manner
  • Performs daily safety check of the assigned forklift in accordance with company policy
  • Transports pallets of raw materials and supplies with forklift to production staging areas as needed
  • Transport finished goods from production lines to warehouse storage or staging area with a forklift
  • Communicates Safety/Quality/Operational issues to proper departments or responsible parties
  • Ensure warehouse and work areas are organized in a secure, safe and orderly fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including housekeep of common areas and restroom, packing moving and setting up of furniture, cabinets, equipment, etc.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous warehouse experience
  • Forklift experience required


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to understand and follow oral or written work instructions
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work with fellow coworkers in a professional manner
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated. Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Position works in a manufacturing environment with varying conditions
  • Able to sit or stand and walk throughout the scheduled work shift
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 60 lbs. on a continuous basis throughout the workday
  • Business needs may require support outside of normal work hours
