Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer with exposure to AWS tools and services to help develop the next generation of our satellite test infrastructure

Our team is responsible for the foundational infrastructure and tools that enable automated satellite testing and drive scalable, high-throughput manufacturing.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S

as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
- Understand functional principles of Leo satellite hardware, software and all backend services that enable the operation of our constellation.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development and implementation of test solutions for integrated satellite hardware and software in an ambiguous and complex problem space.
- Build software solutions to manage the infrastructure needed to operate our system in development and production environments.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to define and implement system architectures for integrated test venues.
- Lead technical roadmap definition efforts and decide what features and performance improvements to build.
- Build sophisticated testing sequences that synchronize equipment and services across multiple system layers, ensuring satellite hardware and software meet functional and performance requirements.
- Drive best practices in software development and documentation. Ensure designs align with requirements. Deliver high-quality software on schedule.
- Automate build, test and deploy pipelines.
A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer on this team, you will develop, implement, and test software for satellite test venues

Your daily work will require collaborating across ground and space system teams to build integrated solutions that validate fully assembled satellites and ensure launch readiness. Your work will directly drive the automation and optimization of test processes at scale.
About the team
The Integrated Vehicle Testing team is responsible for core infrastructure and tools that will serve as the backbone of automated satellite testing operations to enable rapid scaling of manufacturing processes.
