Job description

AWS Skilling and Social Impact (SSI) offers AWS re/Start as a workforce development program that helps adults build skills including AI and cloud, utilizes AWS certifications to validate those skills, and connects graduates with career pathways. The program is free to the learner and delivered through a network of third-party collaborating organizations, led by the AWS re/Start Regional Program Manager.
SSI is seeking a dynamic, organized, and experienced Program Manager who is passionate about skilling and workforce development programs for underserved communities. This individual will join the AWS re/Start team and be focused on building the program and expanding offerings in the Western part of the US and Canada.
The successful candidate will be able to take ownership of the program in the region by sustaining an effective network of delivery organizations. They will earn the trust of the relevant internal stakeholders to support the success of the program across the region.
The candidate will establish solid working relationships with other Amazon teams in order to access local and regional funding mechanisms for workforce development, identify underserved communities who could benefit from AWS upskilling and reskilling offerings, monitor impact, and seek ways to improve effectiveness across the region. The candidate must have a collaborative work style, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
A day in the life
• Use local knowledge to deepen stakeholder network externally, deepening funding channels across public bodies, charities, and corporate organizations
• Engage with AWS account teams in public sector and commercial organizations, as well as externally with AWS customers and Partners, to identify opportunities to introduce adult skilling programs as a solution to customer needs
• Serve as the key AWS point of contact for collaborating organizations, answering questions and directing collaborating organizations
• Work with local AWS public relations teams to showcase program opportunities and success

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- Knowledge of general AI tools
- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
