Job description

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), Security is our highest priority. The AWS Compliance & Security Assurance team is responsible for diving deep into industry requirements, maintaining regulatory and security requirements, and establish strategies to meet current and upcoming customer and regulatory security needs. At AWS' scale, we hire experienced builders to design and operate scalable mechanisms to provide the highest level of assurance to our most regulatory conscious customers.
We are looking for a Program Manager who will support the delivery of defined projects within the Risk and Compliance Remediation team. Operating in a fast-moving environment, you will coordinate project activities and apply project management best practices to improve team efficiency. You will work closely with your immediate team and manager, learning the business workflows and contributing to the successful execution of established processes. The successful candidate has relevant program or project management experience and familiarity with industry standards. This role will focus on coordinating project delivery, managing project communications, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of defined projects within the Risk and Compliance Remediation program, collecting requirements from stakeholders and communicating project status
- Support the delivery of project milestones by managing project activities, timelines, and communications for straightforward compliance and remediation initiatives.
- Triage, track, and coordinate the resolution of open issues, ensuring timely updates and appropriate routing to subject matter experts.
- Manage daily project tasks and priorities, ensuring work is completed within agreed-upon service level agreements and expected completion dates.
- Apply project management best practices to improve team efficiency, identifying opportunities to optimize existing processes and workflows.
- Identify and document opportunities for process improvements and potential automation within your project area, escalating recommendations to your manager.
- Participate in team planning and retrospectives, contributing project updates and coordinating dependencies with team members.
- Track project resource needs and coordinate with your manager on allocation and scheduling.
- Maintain project schedules, plans, and status documentation to support timely project delivery.
- Define and track project success metrics, providing regular updates on progress toward project goals.
- Create and maintain project documentation including schedules, status reports, and meeting notes to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders, ensuring the right people are informed at the right time.
- Coordinate with cross-functional team members to ensure project activities are aligned and dependencies are managed.
- Identify project risks and blockers early, working to resolve issues or escalating appropriately to your manager when needed.
- Support the development of project metrics and reporting, contributing data to program-level dashboards.
- Participate in team business reviews, providing project status updates and answering detailed questions about your projects.
- Support intake processes for new remediation work, helping to gather initial requirements and coordinate handoffs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience working with multiple groups of stakeholders
- Experience with document functional specifications, project requirements, and produce project status reports
- Ability to identify project risks, blockers, and escalate appropriately
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
- Experience in security- or risk-related fields
- Experience with strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders at various levels and in different locales to drive alignment

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
