Job Title: Household Manager (with Meal Prep Expertise)

Location: Guilford, CT 06437

Employment Type: Part-Time, 2530 hours per week | 25 hours guaranteed

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Compensation: $35$40 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

The primary focus of this role is to serve as the trusted partner who keeps our household running smoothly - bringing order, consistency, and thoughtful support to the many moving pieces of daily family life. You will take ownership of a variety of household responsibilities, including planning and preparing two family dinners each week, creating and maintaining organizational systems throughout the home, and proactively managing the countless details that allow a busy household to function with ease. Your work will reduce the family's mental load, creating more space for us to be present with one another and enjoy our time together.

Key Responsibilities

Meal Support

  • Prepare healthy, grab-and-go breakfasts, pack school lunches, and execute fully-cooked dinners 2-3 days per week, and grab-and-go dinners 2 days per week
  • Pack school lunches 5x weekly
  • Develop, manage, and execute weekly grocery planning and shopping
  • Handle kitchen clean-up and ongoing kitchen maintenance

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Perform daily resets and light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, and high-traffic areas
  • Prepare home ahead of bi-weekly cleaners
  • Conduct seasonal swaps for clothing, bedding, and decor
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Care for Indoor plants
  • Support prep for events, holidays, and guests
  • Support packing and unpacking for family travel

Inventory & Errands

  • Restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target, etc.)
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning drop-offs, gift shopping, and general errands
  • Handle mail and packages including breaking down and disposing of boxes

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, fold, and organize family laundry
  • Rotate linens
  • Drop off dry cleaning
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area

Family Support

  • Provide back up support for school pickups, drop offs, and childcare
  • Perform daily backpack reset including unpacking, lunch box washing, and packing and preparing for the following morning
  • Handle kid-related errands

Pet Care

  • Walk dog on a daily basis (15-30 minutes)
  • Schedule vet and grooming appointments
  • Administer pet medications
  • Maintain pet supplies alongside household inventory

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Clean out and organize the family vehicle as needed

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Partner with the family to manage and maintain the household calendar, coordinating school schedules, appointments, activities, and family commitments to keep everyone organized and informed
  • Track expenses, maintain receipts for expenses incurred as House Manager
  • Coordinate and manage household appointments and scheduling as needed

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entryway on an ongoing basis
  • Ongoing organizational projects, particularly for toys and gear

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, and landscapers as needed
  • Seasonal property maintenance
  • Manage outdoor spaces
