AWS Revenue Accounting - billing, accounts receivable, deferred revenue, and write-off processes
AWS Technology Infrastructure - capital expenditures, leased and owned assets
Amazon MGM Studios - revenue operations, content licensing, royalty processing (ASC 606)
Amazon Publishing - recoupable advances, royalty calculation, multi-channel distribution
Prime Video - APAC operational accounting, international financial reporting
Amazon Advertising - controllership, AI-driven process improvements, SEC reporting (10-K/10-Q)
Digital Accounting - operational accounting for digital products and services
Capital & Lease Accounting - owned and leased capex lifecycle, balance sheet reporting
The right individual will have exceptional accounting skills, strong leadership skills, and solid business judgment capable of driving an organization to the right results. They will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives

The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically and tactically.
Key job responsibilities
Financial Close & Reporting
Own and manage the monthly/quarterly close process, including preparing journal entries, analyzing variances, and delivering meaningful financial reporting to management
Manage period-end close by ensuring accurate and timely completion of all accounting entries and reconciliations
Perform analytical review of balances and provide balance sheet account movements to support cash flow reporting
Own critical financial reporting deliverables, including 10-K and 10-Q disclosures
Coordinate quarterly reviews and approvals of estimates, presenting conclusions to senior leadership
Technical Accounting & Controllership
Research, conclude, and memorialize technical accounting position papers
Review licensing agreements and interpret contractual terms to determine appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606
Prepare and review technical accounting memos under US GAAP, ensuring regulatory compliance
Execute quarterly reviews and sign-offs on SOX 404 key controls, ensuring robust internal control framework
Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities
Cross-Functional Partnership
Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Production, Tax, Sales, and Technology to ensure alignment and effective information flow
Build trust and credibility with senior leadership through clear, concise communication
End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners
Drive projects, provide accounting guidance, and often serve as first point of contact for finance and business partners to launch new projects and resolve issues
Enhance partnerships between Accounting and various business and IT groups
Process Improvement & Automation
Evaluate existing processes and recommend, develop, and drive improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
Drive AI and automation solutions for operational improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting processes
Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization
Create process improvements with automation and analysis to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
Leadership & Team Development
Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects across multiple business verticals
Prioritization of tasks while providing active coaching to a team of talented individuals
Escalate risks and issues as necessary to leadership
Act as a subject matter expert for internal technology teams and business partners
