Join us in shaping the future of advertising on Amazon devices by leading the technical strategy and execution of innovative ad experiences that connect advertisers with their audiences. As a Principal Tech Program Manager, you'll drive the vision, architecture, and delivery of complex programs that impact millions of customers across Fire TV, Alexa, Fire Tablet, Prime Video, and more.
We're building products that help advertisers reach their desired audiences while delivering relevant, delightful experiences to our end users. You'll work at the intersection of technology and business, collaborating with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to conceive, design, and develop next-generation ad solutions.
Key job responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of medium-to-large advertising programs, collaborating with engineering, product, and device teams (e.g., FireTV, Alexa, Prime Video) to architect, prototype, and deploy scalable solutions.
Drive technical strategy by balancing business priorities with feasibility, anticipating constraints, and applying data-driven risk mitigation to ensure timely execution.
Manage the complete lifecycle of initiatives-from design and implementation to documentation and measurement-while breaking complex challenges into actionable projects.
Collect requirements, write functional and test specifications, and coordinate scoping, scheduling, and deployment, analyzing cost-benefit trade-offs to prioritize features.
Build cross-functional alliances with advertising infrastructure, device teams, legal, and finance to align roadmaps, secure resources, and drive execution.
Communicate technical status, risks, and strategy to senior leadership and stakeholders, translating between technical and business audiences to align priorities.
Own projects end-to-end, applying pragmatic de-risking and calculated bets to deliver high-impact ad experiences that scale across Amazon's device ecosystem.
A day in the life
As a Principal Tech Program Manager on our team, you'll lead the technical planning, coordination, and architecture of multiple programs that span our advertising businesses. You'll manage the complete lifecycle-from design and implementation to documentation and measurement-of software initiatives delivering high-impact solutions. Your days involve working alongside Program Managers, Product Managers, and engineering teams to navigate complex, highly-technical projects with significant visibility across Amazon. You'll collaborate with partners across the organization, from our advertising core stack to device teams, ensuring seamless execution and alignment on strategy and timelines.

We are a collaborative group focused on creating innovative advertising experiences across Amazon's device ecosystem. Our team owns advertising businesses spanning Fire TV, Alexa, Fire Tablet, Prime Video, Audio, and Grocery. We're committed to building solutions that provide customers with greater convenience and selection while enabling advertisers to connect meaningfully with their audiences. You'll join a multi-disciplinary team that values technical excellence, creative problem-solving, and partnership across organizational boundaries.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience in software development
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related discipline

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
