Overview

LIVIUM is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will help build products like TrueTrack, a financial reporting and analytics platform for powersports and automotive dealerships.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers to guide implementation strategies, build scalable data pipelines, and explore innovative applications of AI.

We’re looking for engineers who enjoy working with large datasets, have experience with Google and Amazon cloud platforms, and thrive in a collaborative startup environment where they can make a meaningful impact.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role based in Dearborn, MI, with approximately 2–3 days per week in the office. Remote work may be considered for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Software Engineering

  • Develop production-quality Python services and own the full lifecycle from design to deployment
  • Design, build, and deploy full-stack features across the entire technology stack (database to UI)
  • Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities through clean, well-documented APIs
  • Build and optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and database schemas for large-scale financial data
  • Work with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse) to design efficient data models and write optimized queries
  • Collaborate with engineers on infrastructure and data architecture
  • Partner with product managers and designers to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain high engineering standards

Leadership & Ownership

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance
  • Take ownership of features from conception through deployment, ensuring performance and reliability
  • Contribute to modernization and evolution of the platform architecture
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and bring new ideas to the team

Qualifications

  • 4–6+ years of professional software development experience with a strong record of delivering production systems
  • Full-stack development experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
  • Backend experience with Python, TypeScript, or other modern languages (language flexibility for strong candidates)
  • Strong SQL and relational database design skills, including query optimization and indexing
  • Experience building ETL pipelines and working with data-intensive systems
  • Experience working with financial data, analytics, or business metrics is a strong plus

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
  • Experience with RAG architectures and vector databases
  • Background in financial analytics or B2B SaaS products
  • Experience with LLMOps (e.g., LangFuse, evaluation frameworks, hallucination mitigation, guardrails)
  • Experience with MLOps, including model training, deployment, monitoring, and rollback strategies
  • Familiarity with prompt optimization, fine-tuning workflows, and structured outputs
  • Experience working in startup or scale-up environments
  • Exposure to machine learning or AI applications in software development
