Job description

Iris's client, one of the world's Premier Investment Bank is looking to hire a strong Core Java Developer for a long-term contract opportunity.

Title: Java Developer

Location: Austin, TX OR Southlake, TX (Hybrid 3 days per week required to work onsite)

Duration: 18 Months

Skills: Java Spring boot microservices

 

Job Description:

·       We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Backend Developer with 7+ years of hands-on experience building scalable, high-performance backend applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, modern backend architectures.

·       In addition, candidates must demonstrate experience using modern AI-powered developer productivity tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT, Amazon Q, or similar AI coding assistants to improve software development efficiency, code quality, problem-solving, and delivery speed.

 

Required Qualifications

·       8+ years Java dev + Used AI tools like Copilot, Claude Code etc for productivity enhancement

·       Strong proficiency in Core Java and object-oriented programming concepts

·       Experience developing applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot

·       Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices

·       Strong understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture

·       Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
