Job description

AWS Global Sales drives adoption of the AWS cloud worldwide, enabling customers of all sizes to innovate and expand in the cloud. Our team empowers every customer to grow by providing tailored service, unmatched technology, and unwavering support. We dive deep to understand each customer's unique challenges, then craft innovative solutions that accelerate their success.

This customer-first approach is how we built the world's most adopted cloud. Join us and help us grow.
AWS is building a new team focused on driving customer adoption of AWS security services - and we're looking for a senior technical specialist to help define what great looks like from day one.
Customers are moving fast, especially into generative AI and agentic architectures, and they need help doing that securely

At the same time, they want to get more from the AWS security services they already own and adopt new ones with confidence. That gap is where this team lives.
As a Sr. Solutions Architect on the Security Services team, you will work directly with enterprise customers to design, adopt, and operationalize AWS security services at scale

You won't just advise - you'll own the technical relationship, architect the solutions, and stay engaged through adoption. You'll work alongside a paired security services seller as a technical and commercial unit, and you'll bring what you learn back to AWS product teams to shape the roadmap.
This is a founding role on a new team. The playbooks don't exist yet

You'll help write them.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical relationship with a portfolio of enterprise customers, guiding their adoption of AWS security services including Security Hub, GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, and Amazon Detective
- Architect solutions to complex security problems where the technology strategy is not yet defined - helping customers move from intent to implementation with confidence
- Work as a paired technical and commercial unit with a security services seller, driving service adoption and measurable customer outcomes together
- Help customers secure their generative AI and agentic architectures, meeting them where they are and helping them move faster without sacrificing their security posture
- Serve as the voice of the customer back to AWS security product teams - surface field patterns, identify gaps, and translate that feedback into clear requirements that shape the roadmap
- Build and maintain relationships with AWS Partners to design and deliver architectures that combine AWS-native security services with best-in-class partner solutions
- Produce thought leadership that scales your impact beyond individual engagements - blogs, reference architectures, workshops, and conference sessions that help customers and the field community
- Partner with AWS Account Teams and security strategy roles to connect service adoption to broader security transformation at customers
A day in the life
No two days look the same in this role. You might start the morning reviewing a customer's detection and response architecture - mapping out how Security Hub and GuardDuty fit into their existing tooling and where the gaps are. Mid-morning, you join a call with your paired seller to align on an account plan for an enterprise customer consolidating third-party security tooling onto AWS

You draft a few notes on a pattern you've seen across three customers that the product team should know about.
In the afternoon, you run a workshop with a customer's security engineering team - walking through how to operationalize Security Hub findings at scale. You wrap the day reviewing a draft reference architecture you've been building for securing agentic workloads, something you plan to publish as a blog post next month.
Through all of it, you're doing the work directly. You're the technical expert in the room, and customers know it.
About the team
This is a new team within the AWS Customer Solutions & Scale Innovation (CSSI) organization

The team's mission is to accelerate customer adoption of AWS security services by pairing deep technical expertise with a commercial go-to-market motion alongside security services sellers.
You will work closely with AWS Account Teams, security strategy roles, and AWS Partners to help customers build confident, secure operations on AWS. The customers you serve are navigating real complexity - they're adopting generative AI, rethinking identity and access models, and trying to keep pace with a threat environment that evolves daily. This team exists to help them do all of that on AWS.
Diverse Experiences
AWS values diverse experiences

Even if you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications and skills listed in the job description, we encourage candidates to apply. If your career is just starting, hasn't followed a traditional path, or includes alternative experiences, don't let it stop you from applying.
Why AWS?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. We pioneered cloud computing and never stopped innovating - that's why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies trust our robust suite of products and services to power their businesses.
Inclusive Team Culture
AWS values curiosity and connection

Our employee-led and company-sponsored affinity groups promote inclusion and empower our people to take pride in what makes us unique. Our inclusion events foster stronger, more collaborative teams. Our continual innovation is fueled by the bold ideas, fresh perspectives, and passionate voices our teams bring to everything we do.
Mentorship & Career Growth
We're continuously raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer

That's why you'll find endless knowledge-sharing, mentorship and other career-advancing resources here to help you develop into a better-rounded professional.
Work/Life Balance
We value work-life harmony. Achieving success at work should never come at the expense of sacrifices at home, which is why we strive for flexibility as part of our working culture. When we feel supported in the workplace and at home, there's nothing we can't achieve.
