Job description

Role and Responsibilities*

The Fleet Coordinator is responsible for all fleet vehicle/operations of the DSP program.

Ensuring all vehicles are Roadworthy, cleaned and outfitted with the necessary equipment daily.

Comply with vehicle grounding regulations.

Ensure the Amazon Fleet Standards and Requirements are met at all times.

Compliance of the Vehicle Use Program.

Responsible for vehicles, DOT and MC regulations and all DSP protocol.

Ensure all drivers understand and procure the licenses/permits required to legally carry loads to be in compliance.

Work with vendors to reduce vehicle downtime due to repairs/replacements, DOT inspections, routine maintenance.

Review, maintain and share any/all records or reports pertaining to driver safety, maintenance and damage with Owners.

Resolve recalls and vehicle campaigns in less than 30 days

Verify and Audit daily vehicle inspections completed by DAs.

Responsible for training & instructing DAs on job requirements and safety as it pertains to fleet operations and daily operations of DA's daily tasks.

Schedule any needed repairs within 2 business days of occurrence and complete repairs within 14 days of the damage.

Predict and advise the Fleet/Dispatch Manager and Owners of the fleet needs proactively.

Provide Fleet performance feedback to the Owners to identify causes, effects and resolutions.

Suggest policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with DSP guidelines and expectations.

Analyze the financial activities of the fleet and provide input into budget planning.

Meet seasonal ramping needs by acquiring rental vehicles as needed.

  • Coach, train, motivate, and develop Delivery Associates (DAs). This includes coaching DAs on how to improve performance metrics such as Speeding Event Rate, Customer Delivery Feedback, Photo On Delivery Compliance, etc.

Required to assist stranded drivers as needed. *This includes pulling out stranded vehicles with company provided tools*

Required to assist dispatch as needed. Required to drive a delivery route as needed. Required to deliver peace of mind to customers by repairing property damage such as downed mail boxes.

Knowledge Required

Administration — Knowledge of business principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Clerical — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.

Economics and Accounting — Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.

Mechanical Knowledge of auto repairs required. Must be able to perform minor adjustments and repairs as needed.

Towing Must have experience towing large vehicles and rescuing stuck vehicles. Critical thinking and problem solving is a MUST.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High school diploma.

Minimum of 45 days as a delivery associate for I Squared Logistics

Must have satisfactory work performance (including but not limited to: attendance, safety performance, and attitude)

Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Must be Step Van Qualified (or become step van qualified within 30 days of obtaining the position)

Strong computer skills required.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 100 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of operation are Sunday through Saturday, 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. Amazon is a 361 company and expects its DSP DAs to deliver all packages daily with the exception of Independence Day, Christmas day, Thanksgiving day & New Years day. The fleet must be ready to go for these same uptime hours.
