The Amazon Devices team designs and engineer's high-profile consumer electronics. We have produced amazin devices like Kindle, Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create?
Along with leading in web services and e-commerce, Amazon.com is an inventive research and development company that designs and engineer's high-profile consumer electronics including our best-selling e-readers and tablets, and Fire TV.
Fire TV client software and services technologies are enjoyed by millions of customers the world over

You will drive key engineering and business decisions that impact Amazon's long-term vision, including innovation in the delivery and consumption of media and entertainment. We leverage the latest technology in client-app frameworks, big data, machine learning, optimization techniques and high availability services. Here on the Fire TV team, we are dedicated to creating the most engaging entertainment platform for the whole family, worldwide.

In this role you will:

We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented software engineers who have experience building innovative, mission critical, high-volume applications that customers love. You will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of products used every day, by people you know. This is a high visibility team where you will get a chance to make a positive impact on customer experience.
Key job responsibilities
The Millibyte team builds a framework and tooling that allows teams across the Devices org to build highly performant native services that work across all Amazon device platforms, not just Fire TV

You'll be responsible for supporting broad initiatives that support our ability to launch new device hardware and software. You'll help create our core software written in the ground breaking Rust programming language, consistently ranked the most admired programming language year-over-year on StackOverflow. Our customers are primarily the dozens of internal teams building the audio, video, voice, advertising, recommendations, network, and many other services needed to make Fire TV work.

As such, this role gives unprecedented opportunities to meet and work with Amazonians across the organization.
About the team
The Millibyte team has a mission to help teams convert all device middleware to native code. We provide the cross platform tools and software to allow teams to build low memory, low CPU, low footprint middleware that is portable to any Amazon device platform.
