Job description

Amazon is seeking an Electrical Installation Lead - Power Distribution & Infrastructure to drive the successful installation of electrical power systems for automation and material handling equipment across multiple greenfield and brownfield fulfillment center sites. This role provides field-based electrical installation leadership focused specifically on heavy wire pulls, power distribution infrastructure, conduit and raceway systems, control panel placement, and high-voltage terminations in complex industrial environments. The Electrical Installation Lead - Power Distribution will directly manage installation crews
responsible for all electrical infrastructure that feeds power to MHE systems. This includes
conduit installation from Main Distribution Panels (MDPs) to sub-panels and equipment, cable tray routing, heavy wire pulling (480V 3-phase), control panel placement, disconnect installation, junction box and pull box placement, grounding systems, and wire terminations. You will ensure all power distribution work is executed safely, in compliance
with NEC/NFPA codes, and to Amazon's quality and schedule standards. This role reports to the Site Deployment Manager and works in close coordination with the Low Voltage Devices & Controls lead - your team must complete power infrastructure in each zone before device installation crews can mobilize. This sequencing makes schedule discipline and quality critical to overall project success.
Key job responsibilities
Power Distribution Installation Leadership:
• Lead and manage electrical installation crews focused on power distribution infrastructure for MHE systems across North American facilities
• Oversee conduit and raceway installation from Main Distribution Panels (MDPs) to sub-panels, disconnects, and equipment locations
• Manage heavy wire pulling operations through conduit including 480V 3-phase power feeders, ensuring proper cable sizing, labeling, and termination
• Direct control panel placement and mounting at designated locations per engineering drawings, ensuring proper clearance and accessibility
• Oversee installation of cable tray systems, junction boxes, pull boxes, and wireways
• Manage installation of disconnects, motor starters, overloads, and related power distribution components
• Direct grounding system installation and bonding connections per NEC requirements
• Ensure proper wire terminations with correct torque values, lugging, and labeling at all connection points
• Oversee cable management including wire bundling, cable supports, strain relief,
and routing compliance
Drawing Interpretation & Field Execution:
• Review and interpret electrical drawings including one-line diagrams, panel schedules, conduit schedules, cable schedules, and electrical installation details
• Verify field installation matches engineering drawings and identify conflicts requiring resolution
• Partner with engineering teams to clarify drawings, resolve field conflicts, and validate installation intent
• Maintain accurate field documentation including redlines, punch lists, installation status reports, and turnover documentation
• Coordinate with mechanical installation teams on shared routing paths, penetrations, and structural supports
Quality, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all electrical power distribution work is completed in accordance with NEC/NFPA codes, project specifications, and Amazon standards
• Perform and oversee quality inspections on conduit installations, wire pulls, terminations, panel connections, and grounding systems
• Verify conduit fill ratios, bend radius compliance, and proper support spacing per code requirements
• Manage electrical punch list identification and repair for all power infrastructure scope
• Drive achievement of safety, timeline, cost, and quality metrics across assigned zones
• Ensure lockout/tagout compliance and electrical safety practices during all installation activities
Coordination & Communication
• Coordinate electrical infrastructure installation with mechanical teams, controls engineering, construction, vendors, and operations stakeholders
• Manage zone handoff sequencing with the Low Voltage Devices & Controls lead - power infrastructure must be complete before device installation begins
• Track electrical installation progress, risks, blockers, and quality issues, escalating when support is needed
• Participate in project-level technical reviews, installation readiness reviews, and punch walks
• Manage relationships with electrical contractors, OEMs, vendors, and internal project stakeholders
• Participate in daily business reviews with installation progress updates
• Support development and continuous improvement of electrical installation standards, field checklists, and scalable deployment processes
A day in the life
Your day starts at the site coordination meeting where you review which zones have completed mechanical steel installation and are ready for electrical infrastructure mobilization. You walk the floor with your conduit crew - verifying raceway runs from MDPs to sub-panels against engineering drawings, checking conduit supports and fill
ratios, and confirming proper routing around obstructions. You oversee wire pulling operations in active zones, ensuring proper cable sizing, bend radius compliance, and pull tension limits are respected. Mid-morning you inspect control panel placements, verifying mounting locations match drawings, checking clearance requirements, and confirming grounding connections. You validate junction box and disconnect installations, review wire terminations for proper torque values and labeling, and address any field conflicts that require engineering clarification. By afternoon, you're tracking installation progress against the schedule, coordinating with the device installation lead on upcoming zone handoffs, and documenting redlines for as-built updates. You close out at the daily business review with progress updates and flag any material or access risks for the next
day.
